Testimonials

We bought a second pizza oven for our home as we were so impressed with the first one we purchased for the Bach. We generally use it for cooking pizzas which are always a hit – fast and authentic tasting – but also it has done some great casseroles (think boneless chicken thighs with spices, vegetables, coconut cream all in a cast iron pot) left to cook away in the pizza oven. Also roasting peanuts in the oven are a great pre dinner nibble – you get a lovely smoky flavor. And precooked mussels opened in their shell topped with garlic and Parmesan – perfect! The pizza ovens are a great piece of entertainment, they look good (not like some of those homemade jobs!) and they have added value to our homes. Very impressed. Highly recommended.

Purchased the smaller Maximus pizza oven 700x700. Operated bigger ovens before and have to say the performance of the smaller one is outstanding !!! Heat's up fairly quickly (i usually take my time though about 2 hours) once temperature has been reached pizza takes about 80-120 seconds to cook. I was also very impressed with the service provided by the guys with answering all questions asked. Just one thing I suggest to people who have not operated a pizza oven before ,get a 2nd pizza paddle as its a lot easier to place the pizza into the chamber...

Just wanted to let you know that the pizza oven which we purchased from you recently is now installed and used regularly with joy. We are very happy with our purchase, the oven is a highlight in our garden setting and entertaining.

You'll only ever fit one pizza in at a time with the smaller Maximus, but it will cook so fast that you'll barely be able to keep up. Roasts develop a great flavour thanks to the wood fire. Roast potatoes are amazing!

More Information

Forno Braga ovens are made of refractory clay bricks, fired in a wood fired tunnel oven at 900 to 1000C for 72 hours. Their composition allows them to absorb heat quickly and retain heat for long periods therefore saving fuel. For the best results pizza and breads should be baked directly on the oven floor, as the heat retained in the refractory tiles is an important detail for the cooking process. The double door features a hole that is designed to fit a rotisserie for spit roasting. When not used the hole is covered by a metal flap. In the back wall of the dome there is a protrusion for the spit. This oven is hand made from clay bricks on the inside, covered with mineral wool insulation, metal mesh, and refractory cement.

Maximus offers the best of both worlds. It can reach very high temperatures (typically cooked at 250- 300°C for pizza but also maintain lower heat for bread, lasagna, rice, slow roasts etc.

The floor of the oven consists of 18 refractory bricks. The dome of the oven is a double wall: stainless steel on the inside and aluminium on the outside. Inside the double wall of the oven and also underneath the floor tiles is ceramic blanket insulation to provide heat retention for your cooking.

The Maximus Prime weights approx. 135 kg, 100×100 cm on the outside, 90 x90cm inside, and 113 cm high incl. the removable chimney.

The dome of the oven is a double wall: stainless steel on the inside and aluminium on the outside. Inside the double wall of the oven and also underneath the floor tiles is ceramic blanket insulation to provide heat retention for your cooking.

The oven features an innovative stainless steel baffle inside. The baffle makes the hot fire smoke travel back and forth inside the oven thereby extracting more heat from the hot smoke and ensuring cleaner air emissions. This is the system employed in most modern EPA heating wood stoves, it results in higher heat efficiency and reduced air pollution.
