The Forno Braga wood-fired pizza ovens are real traditional brick ovens made in Portugal which is widely known for its superb clay qualities and craftsmanship.

Portugal like other Mediterranean countries has kept up the ancient tradition of wood-fired cooking. The Forno Braga ovens are handmade by Impexfire who have produced over 200,000 of these ovens since 1992. They have been continuously developed over the years to utilize the latest finishing products, such as the cast aluminium doors.

What wood should I use in my oven?

Choosing the right wood is an important step in wood fired cooking, though not as daunting as it sounds. So long as the wood you are using is not treated it will suffice! Though there are woods that will surpass others in performance, e.g. Pine for a rapid fire starter, Tea-tree for a longer burn, Fruit wood for new flavours. We also highly reccomend using dry wood only as things can get smoky if your wood is damp!
